Tips to Plan Time Alone on Your Wedding Day

One of the best things you can do on your wedding day is make sure you allot time to be alone for just the two of you. After all, the whole reason you are doing this thing is because you love each other. There’s nothing worse than getting caught up in the wedding day hustle & feeling like you didn’t get to really spend much time soaking it all up.

You could:

1. Share your morning rituals together.

2. Get ready together. You don’t have to share a room, but you can do those those final touches. Zip up her dress, fix his tie, etc. This is great for elopements.
⁣

3. Do a first look OR a moment alone (before ceremony).
⁣

4. Exchange gifts/letters in private.

5. Read written vows to each other in private.

6. Do an activity you enjoy together. Watch the sun rise/set, go for a swim, rock climb, kayak, go horseback riding, etc.

7. Share a meal together (especially, before joining your guests at the reception).⁣

8. Change your attire before joining the party. This means you get to step away for a few minutes.

9. Have a private first or last dance together.

10. Sneak away to somewhere quiet during the reception to talk or go for a walk.

Consider booking a pre-wedding or post-wedding session where you can hop in your wedding attire to carve out time for additional pictures of the two of you without formalities, rushing, or stress. OR, booking a two-day elopement or wedding experience where you can have a whole day with just photos, adventures, & experiences of the two of you.

Of course your photographer (and videographer) will want to be present for most of these moments, but that doesn’t even matter as much as getting to HAVE those moments. Your wedding day goes by SO fast. You won’t even realize it until you wake up the next day thinking, “Whoa, we got married yesterday!” Make that time & take your time.
