The Biggest Change in My Business

I feel like the biggest change in my business was when I started trying to sell an experience, rather than a service or product.

I wanted to offer my clients more than just taking & delivering beautiful photos. I wanted to offer a space to create memories, plan adventures, & focus on the things that matter to them - no matter what life milestone is was. That has looked like meeting for coffee/dinners, openly discussing contracts & investments, creating guides & resources to help them navigate planning or details, open communication, phone calls/texts, timeline planning, sending vendor recommendations, allowing space for questions, sending questionnaires, researching locations/scouting/necessary permits, etc.

People are not our projects. They are humans that deserve our attention, our ear, our devotion, our service, our help, our kindness, our assurance. It’s also one of the reasons I started taking less. When I was overwhelmed with how much I had on my plate, I felt like I couldn’t offer my clients the experience they truly deserved. I started taking less so that I could give more. I started finding ways to better my client experience & raised my prices to reflect what I was offering. It has made such a difference for my clients and for myself.
